Winding Down

These next few weeks we're winding down our soccer season and my fall ball team. Sunday my softball team played in a tournament that placed us in our league and we ended our year in 2nd place. It's a long ways coming from last place three years ago. Peyton has two games left and her team tied on Saturday.
We've been enjoying the free time that we have had lately. Last Monday after our trip to Omaha we all had Monday off including the kids. Tayte and I hung out at home catching up on laundry while Matt took the girls' to the science center, one of their favorite places. Saturday night we enjoyed a night out for dinner with our friends' the Sinnott's and the Keomala's. After dinner the teenage years came out in us and we went out and T P'd some friends' houses.
This past week Tayte has been surprising with new things all the time. His first tooth broke through and is coming in slowly but surely. He has also pulled himself up on his toy, as you can see in the picture, discovered his tongue, so now has his tongue sticking out half the time, is now crawling on all fours, and yes now throws a little fit when trying to change him. We're anxious to see what's next.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins
This weekend started out with a great Friday night get together at our house with our friends' the Pauscher's, Keomala's and the Rodriguez's. It was a fun night of catching up, kids playing and marshmallow roast. The next morning Matt and I decided maybe we should have packed our stuff for our family trip to Gretna, Nebraska before we had people over the night before. Let's say we were in a little rush and of course barely made it to Peyton's soccer game on time. We had planned on leaving right after the soccer game but had to make a stop at home first.
Peyton's team played in Altoona this weekend and definitely played their hearts out! They play a very experienced team and lost by a few points. The girls' did a very good job though! After the game and one more stop at home we were off to Gretna to our favorite pumpkin patch, Valla's, 152 acres of fun! We hadn't been there since the girls' were four and six. It's hard to believe it's been that long, so they were very excited about going again and taking Tayte for his first time. We arrived there around two thirty and were there till seven and still hadn't done everything. We were so exhausted from trying to find our way out of the "Nebraska Cornhusker's" maze. We ventured in there thinking it should be pretty easy, after forty five minutes that thought had changed. We finally got tired of seeing the same people every five minutes and circling around the same area a dozen times. It was very tricky. I'm happy to say, as a family, we figured it out!
After a busy day we headed to the hotel. We ordered pizza for dinner and Matt and the girls' headed to the pool, as for Tayte he settled for a nice warm bath. He was one tired boy. The girls' headed for one last swim this morning before we left and then hit the road for home. It was nice to get home early enough to say we had a nice lazy Sunday afternoon.
Tonight the girls' and I went to Altoona for my softball game. For the first time since the season started we didn't have a double header which was wonderful but paid for it in the end, we ended up playing in overtime and won. Next Sunday we have our tournament.
To end a nice busy weekend we all get an extra day off tomorrow to catch up. With my usual day off the girls' don't have school and Matt took an extra vacation day. We hope you all had a great weekend!
